On Wiltshire Council

Since being elected to Wiltshire Council in 2009, I’ve been dedicated to representing the residents of Melksham South and working to make our county a better place for everyone. Wiltshire Council plays a vital role in delivering essential services to communities across the region, and I am proud to contribute to its work in improving the lives of residents.

As your local councillor, I focus on key issues that matter most to our community, from ensuring our children and young people have access to the resources they need to advocating for transparent and accountable decision-making within the council. I currently chair the Children’s Select Committee, a role I’ve held since 2013, where I lead vital work in shaping and scrutinizing policies affecting young people, education, and family services. My passion for supporting youth development has also extended to my involvement in establishing and chairing the Adoption West Scrutiny Panel, ensuring the best outcomes for children in care across the region.

In addition, I have served twice as Chairman of the Melksham Area Board, from 2013 to 2015 and again from 2017 to 2019. This role allowed me to work closely with local residents, community groups, and businesses to address issues specific to our area, ensuring Melksham remains a vibrant and thriving community.

Through my roles on various committees and panels, including chairing the Evolve Transformation Task Group, I remain committed to ensuring Wiltshire Council delivers efficient, innovative, and community-focused services. My approach is always rooted in listening to residents, addressing their concerns, and advocating for positive change.
