Temporary Closure of: Forest Lane, Lacock and Melksham Without and Lower Woodrow

Wiltshire Council have issued a notice that Forest Lane will be closed between Melksham and Lacock between 9.30am and 3.30pm for the week commencing 6th July 2020 to enable BT to undertake cabling work.

The notice reads:

Wiltshire Council
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Closure of: Forest Lane, Lacock and Melksham Without and Lower Woodrow (Part), Melksham Without (Ref: TTRO 6606)
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
Forest Lane, Lacock and Mleksham Without; from its junction with Bowden Hill to its junction with Lower Woodrow;
Lower Woodrow (Part), Melksham Without; from its junction with Forest Lane to its junction with Bridleway 55, Melksham Without.
To enable: A-Plant on the behalf of BT to carry out cabling to restore customer service.
Alternative route: via Lower Woodrow (unaffected length) - New Road – A3102 – A342 - Bowden Hill and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 06 July 2020 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 10 July 2020. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
