Wiltshire Council is asking local residents to take part in a national survey and share their views on physical activity and active leisure in their local community.
The Moving Communities survey produced by Sport England, is designed to help local authorities understand its residents’ perceptions of physical activity in their local area and barriers that may be preventing people from accessing services.
The survey asks people to describe their current levels of physical activity and attitudes towards exercise, as well as what could encourage them to be more active.
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Cabinet Member for Leisure said: “We want to encourage all Wiltshire residents, whether they are currently using our services or not, to take part in the Moving Communities survey and give us feedback on the local leisure offer. This will improve and develop our understanding of our communities’ needs and views across a wide range of physical activity, wellbeing, and active travel areas.
“As per our business plan, we want Wiltshire to be a place where people are healthy and active, with vibrant well-connected communities. Understanding the range of barriers that prevent people from keeping fit means we can look at ways to remove or reduce them and increase participation.”
The survey is open from today (Thursday 2 February) until 23:59 on Sunday 26 February
