Primrose Drive Play Area

The play area on Primrose Drive should be back open in the next few weeks following Wiltshire Council confirming that it is happy for Melksham Town Council to undertake the repairs needed to make the facility safe.

Since the Liberal Democrats took control of the Town Council they have been activelyt campaigning for the town to be given all of the play areas to maintain and improve and local councillor Jon Hubbard has commented that this decision is long overdue.

"Wiltshrie Council shut down our play area in April without any consultation or discussion and had no plans to replair or restore this much used and loved local amenity", Cllr Hubbard commented.

"It is only due to the persistant pressure from myself and colleages that we have been able to move this forward and can now get work started on repairing the play area.

"It's madness that we have to go through all this work just to undertake basic repairs to keep a play area open."
