Cllr Jon Hubbard

Wiltshire Councillor for Melksham South

Serving the community across Melksham

Primrose Drive Play Area

At last night's first meeting of the new Melksham Town Council my colleagues and I started delivering on the pledges we made to local residents during the election. A reorganisation of the committee structure will help us to deliver on our promises.

Last night we addressed the issue of Primrose Drive play area being closed by Wiltshire Council. The Town Council is now writing to Wiltshire Council to formally offer to take on the play area and manage it on behalf of Wiltshire Council to ensure that such problems do not happen in the future.

This is a key ambition of the new council, to take on ownership and management of all of the play areas across the town and try and ensure that they are improved and developed to meet the ever increasing local population.
