Cllr Jon Hubbard

Wiltshire Councillor for Melksham South

Serving the community across Melksham

Following an intervention by Melksham South councillor Jon Hubbard the developers behind the East of Melksham Development (including the Gateway Development off Snowberry Lane) have agreed to hold a second Stakeholder Consultation on June 3rd.

Many local residents were outraged when the developers gave only 2 days notice of their consultation exercise earlier in May.

Jon spoke to the developers and explained that many local people have concerns about the increased number of houses that they wanted to build and the potential traffic
issues on Snowberry Lane.

“I’m very concerned that the increased traffic that we are going to see on Snowberry Lane will mean that residents will have difficulty leaving the junctions at Heather Avenue, Sweetbriar Road, Saxifrage and Lavender Close” Jon has said.

“We must also make sure that safe access is maintained to Spa Surgery for both pedestrians and vehicles. Local residents concerns must be heard” said the local councillor.
